PETER WARSHALL - 2 BILLION YEARS OF ANIMAL SOUNDS4Peter Warshall (1940-2013) offers a guided tour of Earth’s terrestrial soundscape via the evolution of animal-sound relationships. Recordings are used to explore the creation, development, and function of animal sounds connecting human listeners to our non-human sonic lineage. Described by Warshall himself as “a history of the ways to move air precisely and tune oneself into the airstream.”
Lecture delivered and recorded June 1999 at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics
